In their speeches, the opposition says that the military procurement plan was changed in 2018, and air defense systems were left out of the procurement list. To the question of "Civil Contract" faction deputy Vahagn Aleksanyan, whether any anti-aircraft system was left out of the military procurement plan, the Armenian Prime Minister replied that on the contrary, "Osa-AK" air defense systems were also purchased.
"With the military procurement plan, there were "Tor" systems acquired, and in addition, we acquired "Osa-AK" systems, about which there are many discussions. Moreover, I am not closing those discussions, let them go on", Pashinyan said and detailed how combative the latter is.
"During the July 2020 battles, you remember that an Israeli-made Hermes drone was shot down. That device was hit, as I was told, by "Osa-AK" systems. And when it was shot down, if you remember, it was a global sensation, how the Armenians were able to shoot down the UAV", he said and assured that he has a written reference that there was no change in the military purchase plan in 2018.
According to Pashinyan, there were also other achievements in addition to the planned ones.
"Another thing is that, among those mentioned, it is possible that there were some items that could not be obtained. Why? Because it's our plan to acquire, but someone else has their sales plan, which doesn't always match our acquisition plan. And this was also the reason why we thought and said: well, what alternative can we get at this moment?
