Double-digit economic growth continues in Armenia, Gevorg Papoyan, deputy of the ‘Civil Conract’ faction, announced this at the extraordinary session of the National Assembly, presenting the latest indicators published by the National Statistical Service for the months of May and January-May and describing it as “very important, happy news”.
Accordingly, a 13.7 percent increase in economic activity was recorded in May, that is, economic activity, according to the deputy, has accelerated.
According to Papoyan, another important circumstance was recorded in May. “Inflation in Armenia decreased by 1.3 percent, and according to this indicator, we are one of the countries with the lowest inflation in the world at the moment.”
Papoyan also reminded that the target for 5 months was 7 percent. “I mean, we made that promise to our people, but we have a 12.5 percent increase in economic activity in January-May, that is, our economic activity in January-May is actually equal to last year's economic activity.”
The deputy also listed which 4 industries have ensured economic growth. They are trade, services, construction and industry.
“At the moment, we have one of the highest economic growth in the world and at the same time the lowest inflation. I think this was the important news of the day,” said Papoyan.
