The President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Tiny Kox, called on Baku to stick to its commitments and to open the Lachin Corridor so that aid could be delivered to the people of Nagorno-Karabakh.
“Everyone admits that Nagorno-Karabakh is part of Azerbaijan, but this does not give the Azerbaijani Government the right to do whatever it wants with these people. Blocking the Lachin Corridor could cause a serious disaster for thousands of people living in Nagorno-Karabakh who depend on the corridor with Armenia. It is closed, and it is a violation of the commitments undertaken by Azerbaijan. The Assembly strongly calls on Azerbaijan to follow its commitments, to reopen the corridor so that aid can be delivered to Nagorno-Karabakh,” said the PACE President.
