"We are fighting for our sovereignty and independence, for the right to be and remain Russia, a state with a thousand-year history," the head of the Kremlin said.
He reminded of 1917 events, adding that the authorities will not allow the split to repeat itself in Russia.
Putin also said that the situation in Rostov remains difficult. The work of the civil and military department is actually blocked in the city.
