Russian President Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the initiative of the Turkish side, the Kremlin informed.
"The President of Russia informed about the situation in the country regarding the attempted armed uprising. The President of the Republic of Turkey expressed full support for the steps taken by the Russian leadership," the message stated.
