The employees of the oil refinery named after Heydar Aliyev held a protest, according to the Azerbaijani media. Officials of the state oil company's security department said the department was removed from SOCAR and transferred to the private company GESCO.
The protesters also stated that the reason for their protests is the possible reduction of salaries.
“They are trying to convince us: agree, all your conditions, your salary will remain in force. But we don't believe it,” the employees said.
According to the spokesperson of GESCO, the staff has been informed that all the rights of the workers will be taken into account. The action ended without incident.
