Turkish company Baykar will start production of Bayraktar TB2 and Bayraktar Akinci combat drones in Ukraine in 2025. Haluk Bayraktar, executive director of the company, said this in an interview with Yeni Akit newspaper.
The general director of the company said that the main part of the preparatory work at the factory is already underway. It is planned to be electrified in July.
It is also noted that the Turkish company's total investments in Ukrainian production amount to more than $95 million.
On June 28, 2022, Ukrainian Defense Minister Alexy Reznikov announced that the Baykar Makina plant would focus most of its capacity on the production of combat drones for Ukraine.
Later, on August 9 of the same year, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced that the drone factory in Ukraine would be targeted by the Russian armed forces.
