Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan on Tuesday received a delegation from the Subcommittee on Security and Defense of the European Parliament, led by subcommittee chair Nathalie Loiseau (France), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia reports.
Kostanyan highly appreciated the principled position of the European Parliament on issues of primary importance for Armenia, thanking the members of the aforesaid delegation for their pro-Armenian activities.
The parties discussed a wide range of matters related to the cooperation agenda between Armenia and the European Union (EU). The Armenian side greatly emphasized the deployment of the EU civilian monitoring mission in Armenia and the EU's efforts to stabilize the security situation in the region.
In the context of the discussed matters, the Armenian deputy FM comprehensively presented the latest developments regarding the process of normalizing Armenia-Azerbaijan relations and addressing the rights and security guarantees of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh. And, at the request of the interlocutors, he reflected on the steps towards the normalization of Armenia-Turkey relations.
