Today, official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, held a weekly briefing, during which she answered the question about the shootings in Yeraskh on June 15.
“The incident that happened in Yeraskh on June 15 is related to the general problem of the lack of a delimitated Armenian-Azerbaijani border. The Russian side has repeatedly called to start the work of the bilateral commission on the delimitation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border with our advisory support. We are ready to help determine the crossing of the borderline in this area, which has become another cause of disagreement between the parties.
The accusations against the Russian peacekeepers are completely baseless, and we would strongly advise to reduce the level of media rhetoric in this regard.
The peacekeepers are working closely with the parties to settle the situation, clearly fulfilling the tasks of stabilizing the situation, maintaining the regime of cease-fire and hostilities in their area of responsibility.
