Armenia's Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is in the investigative parliamentarian commission to study the circumstances of the 44-day war. He mentioned that if there are issues that cannot be publicly discussed, then they can be addressed in closed-door mode.
The Prime Minister referred to the trilateral declaration of the leaders of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan on stopping the second Nagorno-Karabakh war. Why did he sign and the war stopped on that very day? In response to this question, he mentioned that the fall of Shushi played a significant role.
"After that, in fact, Stepanakert would come under attack, the pressure on Martuni would increase, and around 25,000 of our soldiers would be in danger of being surrounded", he said.
Nikol Pashinyan noted that this statement was the 5th attempt to stop the war, and the first was on Russian President Vladimir Putin's birthday, when the Armenian Prime Minister congratulated him, the Russian President said that he wanted to make mediation efforts, then it turned out that Azerbaijani president said he does not agree to establish a ceasefire.
Azerbaijan presented preconditions that were not acceptable.
