The head of the Azerbaijani delegation, Samed Seidov, reacted negatively to the decision to hold a discussion on the Lachin issue at the PACE session in Strasbourg.
“The organizing discussion on this topic can rather cause a headache. For the first time in the history of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, we have come so close to peace that this intervention can have a negative effect. We think that it is not the right time to discuss such a question,” Seidov said.
Ruben Rubinyan, head of the RA NA delegation to PACE, responded to the concern of the head of the Azerbaijani delegation.
“Regardless of the fact that Armenia and Azerbaijan are negotiating on the issue of peace, any discussion related to humanitarian issues, the crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh, is important and cannot harm the negotiations.”
