Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov held a meeting with US Ambassador to Russia Lynne Tracy in Washington, the Russian embassy said on Friday, TASS reports.
"Russian Ambassador to the USA Anatoly Antonov met with U.S. Ambassador to Russia Lynne Tracy in Washington on June 16. Topical issues of the bilateral agenda were discussed," it said, giving no further details.
Earlier, assistant of the Russian president, Yuri Ushakov, said that the contacts between Russia and the USA are irregular. Ushakov answered the journalists' question about the level of these contacts. "You could say diplomatic, but they rarely happen."
