During the economic session of Iran's Zanjan province, Mehdi Sobhani, the newly appointed ambassador of Iran to Armenia, stated that the expansion of relations with neighboring countries is one of the important approaches of the Iranian Government's foreign policy, ISNA reports.
Emphasizing the economic opportunities with Zanjan province, the ambassador stressed that these opportunities can strengthen trade relations with Armenia. Noting that the trade value of Iran's trade with Armenia has reached more than $700 million, Sobhani emphasized that their goal is to increase this volume to $3 billion.
The ambassador also stated that Armenia, with its membership in the Eurasian Economic Union, is Iran's gateway to a market of 200 million people, and assured that the producers inside Iran have the power and opportunity to have their place in this market.
