On June 12, the RA NA Vice President Hakob Arshakyan took part in the Fifth Yakov Zeldovich International Conference, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia (RA NAS), the modern achievements of astrophysics and related spheres.
Welcoming the participants of the event, the NA Vice President documented that Armenia pays great attention to the development of science and newest technologies. Hakob Arshakyan underlined that our country is historically rich in scientific achievements and discoveries, especially in the fields of astrophysics, mathematics and physics. In this context he spoke about the importance of international scientific cooperation, recording that it is impossible to have successes and new achievements without the international colleagues’ support and profile collaborative work.
The NA Vice President informed that during the last several years the budget of the field of the science was doubled, and certain part is provided for the establishment and expansion of the profile international relations. In this aspect, he highlighted the participation of the Armenian scientific institutions in similar programmes and underscored, especially, the role of the National Academy of Sciences in that issue. According to him, the cooperation of most of the Armenian organizations is on newest technologies, mathematics, physics and astrophysics.
“I would like to call on the people, who today visited Armenia, for partnership, otherwise, the country cannot reach alone great successes. We should unite efforts in order the newest achievements of science more effectively serve the humankind,” Hakob Arshakyan stressed.
The Director of International Center for Relativistic Astrophysics Network (ICRANet) Remo Ruffini, the Director of ICRANet-Yerevan Center Narek Sahakyan also gave a welcoming speech.
Members of the Government, representatives of diplomatic corps, guests from abroad attended the event. More than 100 scientists for Italy, Germany, China, the Russian Federation, the United States of America, England, India, Iran, the Czech Republic and Belarus take part in the International Conference.
During the Conference reports will be presented on most up-to-date directions of modern astrophysics, as well as the last results of large-scale scientific experiments will also be voiced.
