"The goal of the European Union (EU) is a peaceful and prosperous South Caucasus," the Head of the European Union (EU) Delegation to Azerbaijan Peter Michalko stated.
According to him, the strong and intensive participation of EU Council President Charles Michel in the ongoing peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia is observed: "The Brussels process continues. On May 14, the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia met in Brussels, the next meeting is planned to be held in July. Also recently, there was a meeting of leaders in Chisinau, the capital of Moldova. It is very good that the process continues. The European Union wants to do its best to help achieve peace".
The diplomat also talked about the visit of Toivo Klaar, the Special Representative of the European Union (EU) on the South Caucasus and the Georgia crisis to the region: "As I mentioned, the EU is actively involved in the process. EU special representative Mr. Klaar visited Baku. Today we are in Lankaran, and he continues his meetings in Baku. The goal is to take the process further".
