U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said on Thursday in Riyadh that the fight against ISIS-Daesh "is not yet done".
Blinken was addressing the ministerial meeting of the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS-Daesh. He co-hosted the meeting alongside Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan. The coalition has 86 members.
Blinken focused on the need to repatriate foreign nationals who joined the Islamic State. There are 10,000 of them in detention centers.
"Failure to repatriate foreign terrorist fighters risks the possibility that they could again take up arms and attempt to restore the so-called ISIS Caliphate", he added.
The US top diplomat also urged his counterparts to repatriate civilians, specially children, held in displaced-people camps.
According to Blinken, West Africa is the new stronghold of Islamic terrorists. He said that the coalition should keep up with the "evolving threat".
"Today, Africa is home to nearly half of global terrorism deaths", he added.
