At June 7 sitting of the NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security, the issue of ratification of the Agreement on Military-Technical Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Government of the Czech Republic was discussed. The Agreement was signed in Yerevan, on 9 April 2019.
The directions of cooperation in the military-technical sphere will be established, which include the processes of production of goods of military significance, the import and export, licensing, ensuring control towards quality, training of necessary and technical staff, the support to the organizations carrying out activity in the military-technical sphere, the relations on exchange of and preservation of information.
The Ministries of Defense will be competent bodies of the parties for implementing the provisions of the Agreement, as well as a Working Group on Military-Technical Cooperation will be created within the framework of the Inter-Governmental Commission on Armenian-Czech Economic Cooperation. The RA Deputy Minister of Defense Arman Sargsyan noted presenting main regulations.
In his co-report the Committee member Gurgen Melkonyan proposed the attendees to vote for the ratification of the Agreement.
As a result of voting, the issue was endorsed by the Committee.
