Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani, reacting to the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan that Azerbaijani citizens should avoid visiting Iran, wrote on Twitter:
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan has warned its citizens not to visit Iran. This is exactly the policy adopted by the President of Israel during his visit to Baku. Citizens of Azerbaijan should fear Israel, not civilized and Islamic Iran. Our policy continues to be based on canceling the visa regime and welcoming our brothers and sisters of Azerbaijan with open arms. Continuation of the neighborhood policy is our priority, of course, within the framework of mutual respect and respect for the principles of neighborhood.”
