Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received the parliamentary delegation comprised of members of the Argentine Senate and Chamber of Deputies, led by the chairman of the Armenia-Argentina Friendship Group, Guillermo Andrada, Government press office reports.
The Prime Minister welcomed the delegation's visit to Armenia and emphasized the continuous development of Armenian-Argentine relations. The Prime Minister noted with satisfaction the expression of firm positions on sensitive issues for Armenia in the Senate of Argentina, which also happens as a result of the vigorous activities of the members of the friendship group. "I hope that as a result of your visit, the bilateral political, economic and cultural dialogue will continue to develop and strengthen," said the Prime Minister.
The members of the Argentine parliamentary delegation emphasized the role of the Armenian community in bringing closer the cooperation between the two countries. Guillermo Andrada added that they will continue to actively contribute to the expansion and deepening of cooperation in various fields.
Issues of regional importance were discussed at the meeting. In particular, issues related to the humanitarian crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh resulted by Azerbaijan's illegal blocking of the Lachin Corridor, Azerbaijan's policy of subjecting the population of Nagorno-Karabakh to ethnic cleansing were discussed. The interlocutors considered the aggressive rhetoric of the Azerbaijani authorities and attempts to abort the negotiation process unacceptable. Addressing the rights and security issues of the people of Nagorno Karabakh was emphasized.
