American music icon and one of the top recording artists of all time, Tina Turner, has died at the age of 83.
Her representative said she died peacefully after a long illness in her home in Küsnacht near Zurich, Switzerland.
Turner's chart-topping hits include "What's Love Got to Do with it". She won six of her eight Grammy Awards in the 1980s and was sometimes nicknamed the "Queen of Rock 'n' Roll".
Fans began to lay flowers at her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame near the Capitol Records building. A big bouquet of flowers sponsored by Hollywood Historic Trust was also placed by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce.
She received this star back in 1986.
