According to Nikol Pashinyan, the CSTO mission does not operate in the territory of Armenia for a simple reason, because, in fact, it does not indicate, in its opinion, the territory of Armenia. Armenia’s Prime Minister said this during the press conference, noting that this is the “fundamental problem”.
“When the CSTO will clearly emphasize this, 90 percent of the problems will disappear,” he said, then he also referred to the topic of severing relations with the Russian Federation with the mediation of the West.
“We do not receive signals from the West to break and spoil relations with Russia, we have not received, and I do not think that there will ever be such a signal. The signals can be about the development or course of bilateral relations, which also applies to Russia.
We discuss our bilateral relations with our Russian partners very transparently, and there is no dark spot in those conversations about our concerns that we have in the region regarding the current situation with Russia and our relations.
Let us consider the same situation with the Lachin Corridor. Let's not forget that according to the trilateral statement of November 9, keeping the Lachin Corridor under control is Russia's obligation,” Pashinyan said.
He also added that he has spoken about it before, but he wants to emphasize again that the installation of an illegal checkpoint in the Lachin Corridor is a violation of this obligation by Azerbaijan.
“The Republic of Armenia signed the trilateral statement, in that statement it was recorded that the Lachin Corridor should remain under the control of the Russian peacekeeping forces. And the illegal installation of the Lachin Corridor checkpoint by Azerbaijan is a violation of that obligation, that is, Russia should have kept the corridor under its control,” he said.
