The prime ministers of the countries - members of the Eurasian Economic Union will take part in a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council due in Sochi on 7-9 June, official representative of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Iya Malkina told the media following the EEC Council meeting which approved the agenda of the upcoming intergovernmental council event, BelTA has learned.
"The prime ministers will be reported on the status of the roadmap for cooperation on climate agenda in the EAEU, on the further development of the integrated information system and the digital agenda of the EAEU, on the results of negotiations on a free trade agreement with Iran, on the progress in the work on the EAEU alcohol market agreement," Iya Malkina said.
The intergovernmental council is set to consider the status of the action plan for the digitalization of rail freight transportation in the interests of trade and economic cooperation between the EAEU and China, an action plan for the development of electronic document flows at sea checkpoints of the EAEU states for 2023-2025 and the results of the monitoring of the regulatory impact of EEC decisions.
"The heads of government will examine the progress in removing barriers on the EAEU internal market, in developing transport infrastructure in the EAEU in the East-West and North-South directions, including within the framework of the efforts to align with the Chinese Belt and Road initiative. They will also consider an annual report on the competition in cross-border markets and measures taken to curb violations of the general competition rules and other topics,” Iya Malkina noted.
"It is expected that the heads of government will sign an agreement on mutual recognition of documents on academic degrees in the EAEU states on the sidelines of the meeting," Iya Malkina added.
