China, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan signed a trilateral document on the construction of a railway bypassing the territory of Russia at the Central Asia-China summit.
The agreement on the construction of the new road was signed on September 14, 2022, within the framework of the SCO summit held in Samarkand. The new document will define the sequential steps of project implementation, such as project development, investment and financing model research and definition.
The Central Asia-China summit was held in Xi'an, China on May 18-19. The presidents of Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan also participated in it.
