President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev stated that Armenia's purchase of weapons worth hundreds of millions of dollars creates new threats for the region. He announced this while receiving the credentials from Sridharan Madhusudhanan, Ambassador of India to Azerbaijan.
Aliyev wondered, “Why is Armenia buying weapons worth hundreds of millions of dollars, if it really wants peace with Azerbaijan?” According to him, “such a policy will lead to new threats in the region.”
“Aliyev emphasized that today the revanchist forces are raising their heads in Armenia, territorial claims against Azerbaijan continue. He noted that rapid arming of Armenia creates new dangers," the website of the head of state of Azerbaijan detailed.
In September 2022, The Economic Times reported that India will supply $244.7 million worth of arms and ammunition to Armenia.
