The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, does not consider the situation created around the interaction between the Russian Federation and Turkey in the South Caucasus to be homogeneous.
In the briefing, the diplomat said that there are points of contact, but there are also points on which the positions of Russia and Turkey differ.
“This is an absolutely normal work process, but one should not talk in general, but evaluate the specific part of the interaction. There are examples of successful cooperation in the direction of the South Caucasus, there is an example of cooperation on the issue of Syria, when one or three or four years ago, no one would have imagined that it would be possible to reach an agreement on these formats and these issues. Thanks to the efforts of the leaders of the two countries, it was possible to find ways out of the situations that many considered unsolvable."
