Hungary’s Ambassador to Armenia Anna Mária Sikó (stationed in Georgia) has presented her credentials to Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan.
Khachaturyan congratulated Sikó on her appointment as Hungarian Ambassador to Armenia after a long pause in diplomatic relations.
“We attach high importance to your appointment. Armenia and Hungary, as centuries-old friendly countries, will continue their cooperation, and we will do everything for our bilateral relations to truly develop. I am sure you will have personal contribution in developing our relations,” the Armenian President said at the ceremony.
Ambassador Anna Mária Sikó, thanking for the reception, said: “We’ve been waiting for this moment for quite a long time, and today we have results. We worked very hard, first of all I’d like to thank all those who worked in Hungary and Armenia who made this possible.”
The prospects of economic partnership between the two countries and full utilization of existing potential was discussed. Both sides attached importance to promoting cooperation in education, tourism and culture and implementation of joint projects.
The importance of exchanging best experience in international organizations, namely the EU, was underscored for active cooperation and development of democratic institutions.
