Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Paruyr Hovhannisyan calls the tripartite negotiations held in Brussels more substantive. He said this during the press conference with the head of the EU delegation in Armenia, Andrea Wiktorin.
During a briefing with journalists, Paruyr Hovhannisyan reaffirmed Armenia's red lines in the process of signing a peace treaty and unblocking transport routes. “That's one of our red lines...those roads. It is about the railway. It must work only under the authority of Armenia’s legislation. We can talk about construction and other works after getting exact guarantees on that issue.”
Paruyr Hovhannisyan also referred to the withdrawal of the armed forces of Azerbaijan from the sovereign territory of Armenia, noting that the agreement contains all the principles on the basis of which peace should be implemented in the end.
“This issue is not separated from the general issue. That issue is included both in the contract and in other ongoing processes, so it is impossible to separate that issue from one another,” he said.
The deputy foreign minister also emphasized that the mediators do not use the so-called ‘Zangezur Corridor’ term, which proves their position on the matter.
