Ahead of the presidential elections in Turkey, the united opposition candidate Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu appealed to the current President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Fox TV.
“I want to tell Erdogan that we are going to elections, not to war. Turkey should be the only winner in the elections. Both the opposition and the government perform their duties for the sake of democracy. We all live in the same country,” said the leader of the Turkish opposition.
He expressed hope that the elections will be held in one round. Kılıçdaroğlu called on the Turkish people to make the right choice. “These are not ordinary elections. Tomorrow we will either choose democracy, or we will throw it into the dustbin of history,” said the politician.
Kılıçdaroğlu’s interview lasted 1.5 hours. The host then announced that it would continue after the commercial break, but the interview has not yet aired. No reasons given.
