At the suggestion of Foreign Minister Hadja Lahbib, Belgium has decided to open diplomatic missions in Chisinau and Yerevan, it was stated in the statement of the Belgian Foreign Ministry.
It is said that the war in Ukraine is forcing to pay more attention to the region and adapt Brussels' diplomatic network to the current geopolitical situation.
“Belgium fully supports European efforts that can contribute to the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan, including through the mission of EU civilian observers in Armenia, in which Belgium wants to contribute. Our country also attaches great importance to stability and neighborly relations in the South Caucasus,” the message said.
