The Chairman of the RA Investigative Committee Argishti Kyaramyan is in Strasburg together with the other members of the RA interdepartmental commission coordinating the implementation of international obligations undertaken by the European Convention on Human Rights.
The visit was organized together with the Council of Europe the goal of which is to launch the national mechanism of the interdepartmental commission for the organization and control of the execution of judgments of European Court of Human Rights and to promote discussions between the members of the interdepartmental commission and the relevant bodies of the Council of Europe.
Within the framework of the visit the members of the commission met the Secretary General of the Council of Europe Maria Peychinovich Burich, the President of the European Court Siofra O'Leary, the Director General of Human Rights and Rule of Law of the Council of Europe Christos Giakoumopoulos.
During the meetings issues on execution of judgments of European Court, enhancement of efficiency of introduction of European standards of Human Rights, creation and activity of interdepartmental commission for execution of judgments of European Court were discussed.
During the meetings the efficiency of the steps in the implementation of European Convention of Human Rights taken by Armenia was emphasized and in that respect special importance was attached to the creation of the interdepartmental commission.
A special reference was also made to violation of human rights during 44-day war in 2020 and in the situation created after it.
The members of the high-ranking delegation took part in the thematic discussion on raising the execution of judgments of European Court of Human Rights to an institutional level where the reforms implemented and being implemented in the relevant sphere in relation to the implementation of human rights and the strategic documents were presented.
