Azerbaijan continues its threats, sets up a checkpoint in the Lachin Corridor, toughens its rhetoric, and uses aggression against the sovereign territory of Armenia. How far is it possible to go for peace under these conditions? Shouldn't sanctions be imposed on the government and leadership of Azerbaijan? Public television reporter asked question to the Prime Ministers of Armenia and the Czech Republic. Petr Fiala answered that they can and will support peace initiatives and efforts, which will lead to stabilization in the region.
"It would not be beneficial for the situation if I unilaterally assessed who and how violated (the agreements - ed.). The joint goal of the Czech Republic and the EU member states is to achieve stability and lasting peace in the region, which also means guaranteeing the rights of Armenia, guaranteeing the rights of Armenians. it is an important matter.
We have taken concrete steps in this direction, the Czech Republic contributed to the deployment of the monitoring mission, there are seven Czech experts in the mission", the Czech Prime Minister reminded, reaffirming that they are ready to participate in other activities that will contribute to lasting peace.
Armenia's Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, on his part, noted that what the journalist said is absolutely truth.
"Your question and content emphasize the need for peace, because on one hand, one can say how peace is possible under these conditions, but on the other hand, based on this, it's possioble ot emphasize that peace is necessary", Pashinyan said.
