Due to the blockade of the only road connecting Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) with Armenia by Azerbaijan, sixteen patients with pathologies requiring emergency surgical interventions from the Republican Medical Center of the Republic of Artsakh were transported today to specialized medical institutions in the Republic of Armenia, the Health Ministry of Artsakh reports.
The International Committee of the Red Cross provided mediation and escort for the transportation.
Ten patients who had previously been transferred to Armenia for medical treatment have returned to Artsakh. So far, a total of 394 patients have been transported from Artsakh to Armenia with the mediation and support of the International Committee of the Red Cross.
