On April 24, on the 108th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire, a minute's silence was held in memory of the victims of the Genocide at the khachkar (cross stone) located in the territory of the Holy Assumption Cathedral in the capital of Kazakhstan, Astana.
The ceremony of laying flowers on the khachkar was followed by the requiem service in the temple in memory of the victims of the Genocide.
Representatives of the diplomatic mission of Armenia in Kazakhstan, led by Ambassador A. Ghevondyan, as well as leaders and representatives of Armenian community structures, took part in the commemorative events.
