Turkey is conducting negotiations with ‘Gazprom’ regarding natural gas supplied from Russia, and also advocates diversification of energy sources, Official Representative of the President of Turkey, İbrahim Kalın, says.
“Negotiations are underway between ‘Botash’ and ‘Gazprom’ companies. We continue to make efforts to buy gas at the cheapest price in contacts with all parties: Russia, Iran, Iraq, Algeria. We are considering alternatives in terms of diversification of supplies of energy carriers,” said Kalın.
In the middle of January, Kalın announced that the parties are negotiating to postpone the payment for gas imported from Russia and a 25 percent discount for it.
The spokesperson of the Turkish President noted that the start of supplying fuel to local consumers from the country’s Black Sea deposits will contribute to the diversification of energy sources.
