A meeting of foreign ministers of the CIS countries was held in the city of Samarkand, Uzbekistan, during which thoughts were exchanged on current international issues, and the main directions of cooperation within the framework of the organization were identified for the current year.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov presented in detail Russia’s assessments of the current situation in the world, emphasizing global and regional security issues. As a result of the meeting, decisions were made aimed at further strengthening of integration ties in political, cultural, humanitarian and educational spheres. In 2023 and 2024, Minsk and Gyumri, were declared sports capitals of cooperation, respectively.
A number of approved documents will be presented for consideration by the Council of Heads of Governments of the CIS and the Council of Heads of CIS States.
