On April 12, the Parliament of Armenia observed a minute of silence in memory of the Armenian servicemen who died as a result of provocation by the Azerbaijani side.
“In the area of Syunik province, Armenia, near the village of Tegh, the representatives of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan approached the representatives of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia performing engineering works under the pretext of adjusting the deployment sites, provoked them, opened fire, then opened fire with weapons of different calibers in the direction of the representatives of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia and their positions.
Armenia’s Armed Forces took the necessary measures to protect the sovereign territory of Armenia, fought a self-sacrificing battle, caused considerable damage to the enemy, and the enemy has a large number of victims and wounded. Unfortunately, the Armenian side also has victims and wounded, we have four victims and six wounded. Let's wish recovery to our wounded and honor the memory of the victims with a minute of silence,” said Ruben Rubinyan, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly.
Armenia’s Ministry of Defense informed earlier that no significant violations of the ceasefire by the enemy were recorded during the night.
As a result of the Azerbaijani provocation on April 11, the Armenian side has no positional loss.
The condition of three of the 6 injured servicemen is assessed as satisfactory, the other three as moderate, severe and extremely severe, respectively.
