During the Parliament-Government question-and-answer session, Armenia’s Foreign Minister was asked about Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov's speech today, during which he said that international mediators are making efforts to bring Armenia back to the negotiating table.
"We have postponed our last scheduled meeting, which was supposed to take place in Moscow at the end of last year. And this was due to the situation created by the illegal blocking of the Lachin Corridor. The word delay is key. And now we are ready to resume meetings and discussions," said Mirzoyan.
The Foreign Minister emphasized that even in the circumstances of the postponement of the meeting, the negotiation process was never interrupted. After the postponement of that meeting, the Armenian and Azerbaijani sides have already exchanged proposals on the draft peace treaty several times, there have been direct or mediated discussions.
"And now, yes, various partners, mediating partners, partners interested in stability and peace in the region have repeatedly offered to organize meetings again. Now we have proposals for meetings. And in the near future, yes, such meetings will take place," assured Mirzoyan.
