“I informed my colleague, the president of Kazakhstan, about the current status of the negotiation process with Armenia. We are disposed to normalization of relations. The work on the peace treaty with Armenia has almost started, but it is not going as smoothly as we would like,” Aliyev said during the press conference organized as part of his official visit to Kazakhstan.
“However, there is no alternative to it, and relations between neighbors must be normal. We look to the future and believe that it is possible to reach a peace treaty based on sovereignty, territorial integrity, the UN Charter, the inviolability of borders, and all fundamental norms and principles of international law, which will turn the page of long-term enmity,” Aliyev added.
