Ankara believes that a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia needs to be concluded as soon as possible, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said following talks with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov on Friday, TASS reports.
“We discussed issues related to the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. We call for an early conclusion of a peace agreement between the two countries. We will continue to hold consultations on the matter, particularly with Russia,” he pointed out.
Last year, Azerbaijan and Armenia started discussing a peace treaty with the mediation of Russia, the European Union and the United States. Consultations are currently taking place online.
