Member-states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) are proactively boosting trade turnover as it gained 15% last year alone, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said on Thursday at a meeting with members of the State Duma, the lower house of the Russian parliament, TASS reports.
"What is the EAEU today? It is 180 mln people and a GDP of over $2 trillion. It has certainly proved itself in responding to challenges, from the pandemic to - to now - the challenging situation we find ourselves in with Belarus under sanctions pressure. Of course, the growth in trade turnover is a response, among other things, to the sanctions pressure. The increase was 15% in 2022, up to $80 bln," the Prime Minister said.
