The Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Sargis Khandanyan met with the delegation led by the Head of the Poland-Armenia Friendship Group Radoslaw Fogiel on April 3.
The Head of the NA Armenia-Poland Friendship Group Arusyak Julhakyan and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Poland to Armenia Paweł Cieplak took part in the meeting.
Welcoming the guests, Sargis Khandanyan emphasized the development of Armenian-Polish inter-parliamentary relations, the deepening of interaction on international platforms.
Expressing his gratitude for the warm reception, Radoslaw Fogiel congratulated Sargis Khandanyan on his election as the Committee Chair. The Polish deputy valued the activation of relations between Poland and Armenia at the parliamentary level and the development of interstate cooperation. Radoslav Vogiel underscored the need for cooperation in the economic and cultural spheres.
The guests mentioned that they follow the events taking place in our country, understand that Armenia is in a difficult situation.
Touching upon the works aimed at the development of the peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan at the guests’ request, Sargis Khandanyan noted that Armenia wants to sign a document that will bring peace to the region and solve the problems accumulated over the years.
Speaking about the Nagorno-Karabakh issue, Sargis Khandanyan said that the policy by Azerbaijan proves that this country sees Nagorno-Karabakh without Armenians, which speaks of the policy of ethnic cleansing. According to the Head of the Poland-Armenia Friendship Group, the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh should have a decisive role in securing their rights and protecting their security.
Speaking about Armenia-EU cooperation, the Committee Chair highlighted the deployment of the European Union Civilian Mission, which will promote ensuring stability in the region.
