On March 29th Ambassador Varuzhan Nersesyan delivered an online presentation to students of the School of International Relations of the University of St. Andrews, Armenia’s Embassy in UK reports.
The Ambassador presented a brief history of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict to the students. In this context, Ambassador Nersesyan also highlighted recent developments in the region, including the decision made on February 22 by the International Court of Justice which instructed Azerbaijan to take all necessary measures to ensure the uninterrupted movement of people, vehicles and cargo in both directions through the Lachin Corridor.
Ambassador Nersesyan also elaborated on the deepening of Armenia-UK bilateral relations in political economic and cultural spheres and touched upon Armenia’s foreign policy priorities and ongoing reforms aimed at democratisation.
The Ambassador also discussed with students the importance of international recognition of the Armenian Genocide. Ambassador Nersesyan emphasised that the recognition and condemnation of the Armenian Genocide is a universal issue, an effective and efficient tool for the prevention of future genocides.
