At the meeting of the NA Foreign Relations Committee, Foreign Minister of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan spoke about the Armenian-Turkish relations. He reminded that in 2022 the process of full regulation of relations between Armenia and Turkey continued.
“Four meetings of special representatives of Armenia and Turkey took place. Since February 2022, direct air communication between the two countries has been restored,” Mirzoyan said.
He noted that on July 1, 2022, the special representatives of Armenia and Turkey reached an agreement in Vienna to ensure the possibility of crossing the Armenia-Turkey land border for citizens of third countries visiting Armenia and Turkey in the shortest possible time.
“During the same meeting, an agreement was reached between the parties to start the implementation of Armenia-Turkey air cargo transportation as soon as possible, which already started this year,” the Foreign Minister noted.
Mirzoyan also mentioned the meeting of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Turkish President Recep Erdogan in Prague on October 6, 2022.
This year Ararat Mirzoyan went to Turkey to express his condolences on the many victims of the devastating earthquake.
Armenia also sent humanitarian aid and a humanitarian group to Turkey.
