Again, a physical and verbal confrontation took place between the Georgian MPs. This time the clash took place in the lobby of the parliament building, the footage was broadcast by local TV stations.
The situation heated up after Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili's speech in the Parliament. The Prime Minister blamed the opposition for inactivity in the European integration process.
“On the part of the opposition, we have seen boycott, sabotage, direct obstacles so that the country does not get candidate status, and destabilization of the country, which directly contradicts the interests of our people,” said Irakli Garibashvili and called oppositionist Gubaz Sanikidze a traitor. The MP responded with a curse word.
After Garibashvili's speech, majority deputies dragged Sanikidze in the hall of Parliament, one of them kicked the opposition deputy.
A few days ago, Georgian deputies insulted each other and threw microphones at each other during the plenary session. The incident began during the discussion of the Defense Code, which provides for mandatory military conscription for students. Earlier, the deputies had a fight during the discussion of the bill on foreign agents.
