On March 21, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Vahe Gevorgyan, who is in Buenos Aires to participate in the 3rd World Forum on Human Rights, had a meeting with Ambassador Pablo Anselmo Tettamanti, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship of Argentina.
The interlocutors touched upon the friendly relations between Armenia and Argentina, expressing readiness to continue joint efforts towards their development. The sides also commended the level of cooperation on multilateral platforms.
Touching upon the security situation in the South Caucasus, Vahe Gevorgyan briefed on the humanitarian situation in Nagorno-Karabakh resulting from the blockade of the Lachin Corridor. In this context, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia emphasized the urgency of unconditional implementation of the relevant decision of the International Court of Justice by Azerbaijan. A number of issues on regional and international security were discussed.
On March 22, Vahe Gevorgyan had a meeting with Jorge Taiana, the Minister of Defense of Argentina. The interlocutors touched upon the possibilities and perspectives of cooperation in the sphere of defense.
The visit was concluded by the attendance of the Armenian St. Gregory the Illuminator Cathedral of Buenos Aires and a meeting with the leadership of public structures of the Armenian community.
