During the Parliament-Government question-and-answer session, Armenia’s Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan spokes about his visit to Egypt on March 7-9. He participated in the ministerial level meeting of the League of Arab States.
“Since the declaration of independence, Armenia has traditionally had warm and friendly relations with the Arab states. These relations, in turn, are historically based on the fraternal relations between the Arab peoples and the Armenian people.
The visit was a very good opportunity to present our vision on the ongoing developments in the region and to address 1-2 important issues in the presence of the foreign ministers of the Arab countries in one hall at once.
You know that recently the authorities of Azerbaijan are trying to give an additional tone to what is happening and has been done in our region. I am talking about a religious tone. During this visit, we were able to thoroughly present and explain to our partners. I can assure you that the Arab partners also have the same perception: all the problems that exist with Azerbaijan do not have any religious tone in any way,” said Mirzoyan.
He emphasized that Armenia has great respect for all religions and cultures.
