Farhan Haq, deputy press secretary of the Secretary General of the United Nations, said about China's plan to settle the situation in Ukraine that they need more details about the proposal to make an assessment, RIA Novosti reports.
At the same time, he noted that the UN encourages the efforts of any country aimed at the peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian conflict.
In February, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China published its plan for a peaceful settlement in Ukraine. The key points of the 12-point document are the resumption of peace negotiations and the cessation of hostilities.
During the meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin also stated that many points of the Chinese peace plan on Ukraine can be accepted as a basis for settlement when the West and Kyiv are ready for it.
