Deputy of Armenian Parliament’s ‘Civil Contract’ faction Vigen Khachatryan talked about the peace treaty and the work being done in its direction in a briefing with journalists today.
“Azerbaijan is not interested in peace. We are now drafting the peace treaty in such a way that it does not contain the dangers of starting hostilities. That is why the text goes back and forth online. We constantly edit and see that Azerbaijan is trying to give formulations, the implementation of which can legitimize the force factor. At the same time, we understand that the best way to avoid war is to have an adequately balanced force structure, an army, which we are currently engaged in. As long as the balance of force is unbalanced, there is always the risk of war.
We say that if we sign the peace treaty, it is not a guarantee of peace, because we are dealing with a hostile neighbor possessing great facilities,” said Khachatryan.
