After the meeting, the press conference of Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov and Armenian Foreign Minister Mirzoyan was held.
“We held very rich negotiations, discussed the entire system of bilateral relations in all areas: regional, international issues and outlined the future ways of our strategic partnership.
We talked about the disturbing situation in the South Caucasus. We see the unconcealed desire of the West to turn Russia and Armenia against each other, to disrupt the security of the region, which is done not for the sake of the countries of the region, but for their own geopolitical interests. I am sure that such attempts are doomed to failure.
We discussed in detail the ways of settling the situation in the Lachin Corridor and the entire Karabakh, we emphasized the restoration of the negotiation process in all directions of the trilateral agreements. We hope that the work we are doing in the direction of unblocking transport and economic ties in the South Caucasus will help the deputy prime ministers of the three states to reach certain agreements soon.
We are working on promoting activities aimed at the delimitation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border with the support of Russia. The Russian side is ready to support the peace treaty between Yerevan and Baku. I am sincerely satisfied with the results of today's negotiations. We were sincere, and I am sure this meeting will contribute even more to the mutual understanding and deepening of ties between our two states, as well as to the establishment of stability in the South Caucasus,” said the Russian Foreign Minister in his introductory speech at the press conference.
