During the government sitting, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan emphasized the danger of ethnic cleansing and genocide preparations for the people of Nagorno-Karabakh.
"Azerbaijan's state and proxy propaganda has been creating a media background for a large-scale attack on Nagorno-Karabakh for a long time, and the tension trends are also visible on the ground.
Our assessment remains the same: the military-political leadership of Azerbaijan sees preparations for ethnic cleansing and genocide against the people of Nagorno-Karabakh.
This record, by and large, is also present in the ruling of the International Court of Justice on February 22, where it was clearly recorded that the closure of the Lachin Corridor could bring irreversible humanitarian consequences for the people of Nagorno-Karabakh", he said.
In this sense, Pashinyan considers it important and urgent that Armenia takes measures to launch international mechanisms for genocide prevention.
"In particular, we are talking about the mechanisms planned within the framework of the United Nations. I have given relevant instructions to the Foreign Ministry about this", Pashinyan said.
